Form SIX Results 2022, The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is an institution of the Tanzanian government that was established in 1973 as a result of Parliamentary Act No. 21. The National Examinations Council of Tanzania, sometimes known as NECTA, is the organization in charge of managing all national examinations.

NECTA came into being as a result of Tanzania Mainland’s withdrawal from the East African Exams Council (EAEC) in April 1971 so that it could conduct its own examinations independently. Zanzibar withdrew its membership from the EAEC in 1970. Between 1968 and 1971, Tanzania participated in overseas Secondary School Examinations that were previously completely administered by Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. These examinations were co-administered by the East African Syndicate during Tanzania’s participation. At the time, the Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate was responsible for overseeing two different types of examinations: the School Certificate Examinations and the Higher School Certificate Examinations. The first time that African pupils participated in the School Certificate Examinations was in 1947, and the first time that they participated in the Higher School Certificate Examinations was in 1960.
